For those who found 2004's Aliens vs. Predator too lightweight in the gore-and-guns department, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem offers a marked improvement in both categories, as well as a respectable amount of rumbles between the title extraterrestrials. Set in the 21st century (which predates the story to all of the Alien features), Requiem sends a crippled Predator ship crashing to Earth in a small Colorado town; unbeknownst to the locals, the craft is loaded with H.R. Giger's insectoid monsters, which make quick work of most of the population. As the human cast is slowly whittled to a few hardy (if unmemorable) souls, a Predator warrior also arrives to complicate matters and do battle with the Aliens, as well as a ferocious alien-Predator hybrid (dubbed a Predalien by the sci-fi and horror press). Visual-effects designers and music-video helmers The Strause Brothers (who make their feature directorial debut here) keep the action on frantic throughout, which is wise, since the dialogue and characters are threadbare at best; that should matter little to teenage male viewers, who are inarguably the film's key audience. Fans of the Alien franchise, however, may find the offhanded nod to the series' mythology given during the finale its sole saving grace. --Paul Gaita

Alien Vs Predator: Requiem was an awesome movie and I don't care what everyone else says about it because I loved it, and thats all that really matters. This movie was a lot better than it's prequel, but I still loved both of them.
The movie picks up right after the last one with the birth of the Hybrid and within the first 20 minutes or so the action begins and ceases to stop. This is the way an AVP movie was supposed to be. Great Job Strouse Brothers!
By the way If you are thinking of purchasing the 2 disc unrated DVD this is it! Do not place an order for the AVP unrated 2 pack...that is a box of the two movies not a 2 disc special edition of AVP:R, the box comes with The 2 disc unrated version of AVP and the single disc unrated version of AVP:R...just wanted to clear that up for the AVP fans who are thinking of preordering AVP:R

The first AVP was a bit of a let down for one simple fact, it was rated PG-13. How the hell are you gonna do a versus of the two most brutal and best sci-fi series in the world, and make it PG-13??!! Well this one is everything the first one should've been. Amazing! Don't listen to all the bad reviews. Everyone's a crittic these days, geese. If you're a fan of the PREDATOR and ALIEN movies, than you will love this! It has the brutality and feel of the originals. Bottom line, it's entertaining. Like movies are supposed to be. What happened to the good old days when people enjoyed movies for what they're for, fun. Now everybody just looks for ways to cut them down and "criticize". A movie isn't really supposed to teach you a lesson or make you "smarter", it's supposed to take you out of the stressfull world we live in for a couple hours. Anyway, enough of that. If you like blood, guts, action, amazing visuals, predator, alien, and being entertained, this movie rules.

A Great Film with fast paced non-stop action and great production design. i do however see the weakness of the story and the characters but who cares its a monster movie. This is basically your Large Budget B-Movie. A must see and must have for AVP Fans.

AVPR:Aliens vs Predator Requiem is the 2007 sequel to Alien vs Predator. Directed by The Brothers Strause, it stars Steven Pasquale, Reiko Aylesworth, and John Ortiz. Picking up after the events of the first movie, the predator known as "Scar" erupts with a chestburster on board his Predator ship. While the chestburster's form has taken some characteristics of the Predator, it grows into a new hybrid of alien known as a Predalien. The Predalien sneaks onto a scout ship and kills a Predator on board. In an attempt to kill the Predalien another Predator fires his shoulder cannon which punctures the hull of the ship and brings it down on Earth in none other than Gunnison, Colorado. The Predator then sends out a distress signal to other Predators before he dies, which ultimately brings another. When he arrives, all (ahem) heck breaks loose and people as well as Aliens start to die. While the movie didn't do as well as the first at the box-office; it is, in my opinion, a much much better movie. With more blood, gore, & chaos; it definitely delivers the fun. A third film in the series has been planned by Fox so we can look forward to the series continuing as well as seeing the storyline finish up. The Unrated version includes five behind the scenes featurettes as well as commentary and multiple still galleries.
